MINISTRY DESCRIPTION

Horsemanship Program – Christian Outreach program of FBCMS to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the discipleship and fellowship of Believers spending time together enjoying the outdoors.  Through this ministry, we will learn valuable lessons of faith, responsibility, and respect of one another and experience  practical applications necessary to work with and around horses.

 MINISTRY PURPOSE

Strengthen our Church Community through Fellowship – experiencing life together and reaching out to young people and adults with interests in equestrian activities.

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.  Matt. 18:20

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:25

Within the loving reach of our Savior and the fellowship of His believers of FBCMS we will be meeting to share God’s Purpose and Plan for our lives, His Word, one another’s burdens, and a common interest in horses, horseback riding, livestock husbandry and His great outdoors.

MINISTRY TARGET

It is estimated that in the counties surrounding the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metropolis that the old west, farming and ranching culture represents up to 10% of the total population. In suburban areas the number increases dramatically to 25% when adding the 5+ acre ranchettes. In our area the number is significantly higher.  Cowboy church surveys indicate that these cowboys/cowgirls and blue collar country folks feel out of place in the average church.  Many of these adults are saved but are not active in church families.  While others have not been introduced to Jesus.  Children, especially young girls and women, are drawn to horses because of their nature and the equestrian lifestyle is a health one avoiding drugs, sex, and irresponsibility.  However, without Jesus, the lifestyle comes up short.  Jesus fulfills the longing of the soul and the restlessness of the heart for He is Faithful and True and He rides a white horse.

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.                                                   Revelation 19:11
